Restaurant style salsa in three minutes

I love salsa, but I don't like spending a lot of time in the
kitchen.  This is a recipe for 'restaurant style' salsa,
you can make it hot or mild, and the recipe is
very open to personal touches.  Feel free to play
with the ingredients, add cilantro, take out the jalapeņos, etc.

Step 1: Start with some tomatoes

Step 2: Add in some jalapeno peppers

Step 3: Throw everything in a blender!

Step 4: Chill and serve, or eat immediately!

Ingredients

HOT

. 14.5oz can of whole tomatoes.
. 1-2 whole jalapenos, cut off the ends.
. 1 tsp cayenne pepper
. 1 tsp salt
. 1 tbs crushed red peppers
. (optional) 1/4 cup of onion
. (optional) minced garlic to taste

Adjust cayenne for more/less spice.
Adjust jalapeņos and salt for more/less flavor.

MILD

. 14.5oz can of whole tomatoes.
. 1/2 tsp cayenne pepper
. 1 tsp salt
. 1/4 cup of green onion
. (optional) minced garlic to taste

Adjust onion and garlic for more/less flavor.

Using very much less cayenne will result in a tomato-ey tasting sauce, which may or may not be desirable.
You can also try draining off the tomato juice from the can, or leave it in.  Try fresh whole tomatoes if
you have a little more time, the taste is subtly different!

I prefer to let the salsa chill for an hour or so in the refrigerator first,
not only does it taste better cold, but it gives it time to "air out" from being in the blender.
