AI is a surreal
futuristic world where robots have developed semi-sentience, and live their
lives in the service of humans. The main character of the movie played by
Halley Joel Osment is a small child robot that is designed for the sole
purpose of loving it's parents. In a world where population is
regulated, it is an idea tested first by his 'parents'.
Bittersweet and thought provoking, AI is sure to be a classic.
While, to be honest, there are some similarities between this and
Bicentennial Man, this takes a different approach. The movie doesn't
emphasize on the main character David trying to become anything more human,
rather it revolves around him dealing with his robotic nature and eternal
childhood innocence.
A very good movie.
