For some reason, I liked this
book even if it didn't contain nearly enough action. Maybe I was just
burned out on reading the five previous books back-to-back. Anyway, I
took a couple months off and came back to the series, and I'm glad I did.
Basically the White Tower remains divided and Rand hopes to play them off
against each other. Nynaeve, Egwene, and Elyane continue to produce
breakthrough innovations, partly supported by their special 'captive'.
Emmisaries from Salidar hope to gain Rand's support and confidence while
they guide him, while Elidia in the Tower opts for a more direct approach.
There are some really strange twists in this book, and a couple parts
that really shine.
